The construction itself of 250 m high mast then started in August and it was managed to complete it by the end of the year. From the outset, it was planned as the National Monitoring Point for the quantity and long-range transport of greenhouse gases. The decision was eventually made in favour of a location in proximity to the CHMI Ko\u0161etice Meteorological Observatory which at that time already had a long time series of measurements of air pollution and meteorological data.\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">On June 17, 2013, a ceremonial opening took place, when the research infrastructure was put into operation as the <strong>Atmospheric Station (AS)<\/strong> <strong>in K\u0159e\u0161\u00edn near Pacov<\/strong>. Already during the preparation of the mast project, some components, especially the construction elements, were modified so that the costly infrastructure would be suitable for a wider range of measurements. As a result, the monitoring of greenhouse gases concentrations could be extended from the start of operation of the station to monitor the amount of tropospheric ozone, elemental gaseous mercury, and measurements aimed at studying the physical and chemical properties of aerosols. The station has been involved in many other national and international projects over the years. One of the first was the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.actris.eu\/\">ACTRIS<\/a>\nproject and its national component ACTRIS-CZ, in which GCRI cooperates with CHMI, ICPF and RECETOX. Measurements of the optical properties of aerosols started before the K\u0159e\u0161\u00edn at Pacov AS was put into operation. The measuring instruments were initially placed in the AIM container operating within the Ko\u0161etice observatory. The Atmospheric Station and the Meteorological Observatory under the ACTRIS project (and not only within this project) started to act as the Ko\u0161etice-K\u0159e\u0161\u00edn Combined Station. The placement into the AIM container at the area of the Ko\u0161etice observatory was initially utilized for other analysers operated by GCRI as well.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-e5b7a1c elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"e5b7a1c\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-settings=\"{&quot;_ha_eqh_enable&quot;:false}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-80705b5\" data-id=\"80705b5\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-14870a4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"14870a4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In February 2016, all these measuring instruments were moved to technological container No.\u00a02 newly installed at the foot of the mast.
